Custom Honda Civic Euro Tail Lights
In this picture, you can see where we removed the OEM lenses and the wiring harnesses. Now the bulbs are exposed. In order to remove the OEM lenses, we had to remove a fastener and pull back the carpeting in the trunk. Once the carpet was pulled away, you can see four (8mm) bolts that would need to be removed. Prior to removing the bolts, we removed the sockets from the lenses. There were also four bulbs/sockets. One bulb is the back up light, one is the brake light, one is the turn signal and one is the side marker. Make sure you keep track of the order the bulbs.
The new aftermarket lenses have a gasket which needs to be placed on the back of the lens. That gasket helps keep out moisture. Once the gasket is seated properly, place the lenses into the vehicle and hold it in by hand. Attach one of the bolts and place it on the lens to hold it in place. You can now put the bulbs/sockets into the lens. You may have to move the wiring harness around to make the sockets fit into their openings. The center opening is the opening for the back up light. The upper opening is for the brake light. The lower one is for the turn signal. The opening on the side is for the side marker. Once all the bulbs are in place, test all the lights to verify they're working properly. Sometimes, when moving the bulbs around, they become damaged. Once you verify all the bulbs are working properly, place the rest of the bolts onto the lens and tighten them gently. Be careful not to over-tighten the bolts or you will damage the lens. Replace the trunk carpeting and the retainer. You're done.
